Dear reader,

I am glad you found my website!

My name is Leena Blomqvist, and I am a long-time writing and language-oriented person – I edited my first “magazine” when I was about 8 years old, and later I graduated at Department of Translation Studies at the University of Helsinki in Kouvola. After my studies I wanted to get a broader picture of the demands of business life and worked in international logistics, tourism and communications, until about 25 years ago I started my own business in translations and translating related services. And I am still on that path.

However, the world-changing technological progress has also impacted on the translation industry, and that is why I am increasingly focusing on the importance of good writing skills.

In my opinion, writers have a common responsibility: their readers must be able to focus on the content without being distracted by annoying or vague linguistic choices.
